Get ready to sail the high seas with this fun stop-motion animated adventure about Alexander Selkirk, the pirate who inspired the famous novel, Robinson Crusoe.
Selkirk has a map that marks the location of the lost El Manila treasure. He takes to the South Seas aboard the ship Esperanza, in search of the treasure island. His unruly gambling and bullish behaviour onboard make him unpopular amongst the crew and they maroon him on an uninhabited island. Once there, he has to put his reckless ambition behind him and adopt a new outlook on the world.

Walter Tounier, Montevideo,1944.
Animator,animation director, teacher, and craftsman. The target audience of his films is general audiences, especially children.
In 1998, he started his own production company Tournier Animation, specialising in the animation technique known as Stop Motion. His work and career have earned him international honours in Germany, Argentina, Cuba, Spain France, Peru, Paraguay, Uruguay and Venezuela.
His short film “Nuestro Pequeño Paraíso” (Our Little Paradise) was selected, together with another 84 films, as one of the best animated films of the twentieth century for the programme One Hundred Years of Cinema Animation (The tour de l’animation) by the Annecy International Animated Film Festival in France in 2000.Some of his most significant productions are the series “Los Tatitos” (aired on Uruguayan and Argentinian television), “El Jefe y el Carpintero” (The Boss and the Carpenter) and “Navidad Caribeña” (Caribbean Christmas) for Welsh TV and Discovery Kids, “A pesar de todo” (In Spite of Everything) and the series “Los Derechos del Niño”(The Rights of the Child – OAS), aired by more than two hundred television stations in Latin America.
A series of spots on taking care of water supplies and «Tonky» – a co-production with Brazil’s TVE, KRO of the Netherlands and Argentina’s Canal Encuentro consisting of two 13-episode series – stand out amongst his latest creations.
