DJ Señor Bolivar
Colombian-born but now calling Sydney home Señor Bolivar has brought his infectious blend of South American and Afro-Caribbean rhythms to the Australian scene. His Dj sets are high energy and never confined by geographic boundaries, combining his latin roots with everything from reggae to hip hop, funk to deep electronic vibes.
Playing regularly in the most forward thinking club nights around Sydney, in this year alone Señor Bolivar has already shared the stage with some of the biggest names in the worldwide tropical scene from Will Holland (a.k.a. Quantic) to Daniel Haaksman (Man Recordings).
The 15 piece Latin Orchestra Mucho Mambo featuring some of Australia’s best Latin and Jazz musicians was formed in 2002 stemming from a love of big brass arrangements and cool old style Latin grooves and has been wowing audiences since with their tight arrangements, brilliant musicianship and unique visual spectacle. Mucho Mambo‘s 3rd album “Homage” has just been released. This 20 song album is a tribute to Cuban music in the 1950s and 60s with songs from original artists such as Benny More, Rolando Laserie, Pio Leyva, Tito Gomez, Orquesta Riverside, Conjunto Casino, Perez Prado and more.Featuring singers Wilson Orozco, Victor Valdes, Richard Valdez, Angela Rosero and Francisco Toledo.

Carmen Alicia Cordon Hernandez was born in Bucaramanga, Colombia where she grew up singing traditional music from her homeland, as well as an immense range of styles from the Latin-American repertoire. Her musical experience intensified through her academic studies and closeness to the people which finally paid off receiving numerous awards in musical festivals with her dearest duet Carmen & Milva. Carmen migrated to Australia in 2009 and immediately started performing for audiences of different backgrounds but constantly aiming at keeping her roots alive. She is currently the director and conductor of the Spanish Speaking Choir based in Fairfield NSW. She is also the lead vocalist of Sydney band Sensacion Latina.
Claudio Hevia Penna
He was born in Santiago de Chile in the early ‘70s during the most politically effervescent era in South America. His musical influences built up in conjunction with the growing popularity of movements such as La Nueva Cancion Chilena y La Nueva Trova Cubana. Claudio migrated to Australia in 1995 and very soon started participating in public events joining other artists from the latin community. His love for traditional instruments has allowed him to play in different bands and in a variety of styles. Currently is the lead guitarist for the Spanish Speaking Choir conducted by Colombian singer Carmen Alicia and is also an active member of Sydney band Surkaran.
Dancer, Performer, Entertainer and Instructor — Yarima Gavilan is a highly accomplished and popular Afro-Cuban dancer from Havana, Cuba. Her dynamic, elegant, sensual and sexy performance style keeps audiences glued to her every move. Her teaching style and technique is clear and structured and has made her a very popular and effective dance teacher. Her charisma and warm personality enhances her performances and classes, and draws people to her. Yarima is now based in Sydney, but performs and teaches workshops in other states and regional towns in Australia and New Zealand. She teaches Cuban style Salsa, Son, Afro-cuban, Rumba, Timba, Reggaeton and Rueda de Casino. She is currently the only authentic and professional female Cuban Dancer in Australia.
