“Prisoners come to prison as punishment, not for punishment” – this mantra has helped turn around a prison system. Songs of Redemption is a moving story of the rehabilitation of the inmates of the General Penitentiary in Jamaica. With riveting interviews and powerful Reggae music created and performed by the inmates and wardens, the multi-award winning Songs of Redemption reveals the transformative power of music within one correctional facility.

Director_Amanda fotocolorAmanda Sans Pantling is a documentary filmmaker and scriptwriter from Barcelona.  She has written and directed several documentaries for different spanish televisions (Canal +, TVE, Cuatro, BTV) and has worked as a production manager and a scriptwiter in various TV programs.
She also directs commercials. Songs of Redemption is her first feature length documentary film
