A trio of people and land hunters, who want to build a factory in the Argentinean rainforests, turn up to kidnap a poor farming family and seize their land. A mysterious man, played by Gael Garcia Bernal, emerges to rescue the kidnapped daughter of the family, while ancient rituals by those who live in the dense rainforests invoke beings from the river to protect them in times of danger.

pablo-fendrikEL_ARDORBorn in August 1973 in Buenos Aires, his successful debut as director, El Asaltante / The Mugger, led him to participate in 2007 at the 46th Critic’s Week of the Cannes Film Festival.
His second film La Sangre Brota / Blood Appears was selected the following year at the 47th edition of the Critic’s Week.
“I like to think of ARDOR as a “Mesopotamic Western” or as a Western in the jungle. It tells the struggle between man and nature, the conflictive atmosphere of the frontier where an apparent advance of progress faces a natural state of things that took millions of years to configurate. It is also a personal blood war. It is the tale of an unfolding revenge.”
